Diana Fischer, M. Sc.

Background

Diana Fischer studied building at Duisburg-Essen University, completing her studies in 2010 with a Master of Science degree, specialising in "Construction Operations and Construction Management". This was followed a position as a consultant for sustainability at >>bauforumstahl e.V., then she worked as a research assistant at Duisburg-Essen University while she continued to work as a freelancer for Bauforumstahl e.V. Since April 2012 she has headed her engineering consultancy full-time.

Experience and qualifications

The issue of sustainability accompanied Diana Fischer right from the first semester of her studies, first in the field of urban development where she worked as a student assistant for preparatory work on research projects in Sweden and China. In her master's thesis she developed in 2010 a system for evaluating the sustainability in the global acquisition of steel.

As a lecturer on sustainability she was involved inter alia in the production of the Environmental Product Declaration "Structural Steel - Sections and Plates" and published several papers in periodicals and brochures. Alongside this she represented the interests of >>bauforumstahl e. V. in various bodies, for example the Round Table for Sustainable Building, in committees of the German Society for Sustainable Building (DGNB) and national and international working groups in the steel industry.

Also as research associate at the university Diana Fischer acquired and worked on research projects in the field of sustainable building, for example a project running at the moment on behalf of the Federal Environment Office.
